Please read these terms as the adult responsible for setting up ScreenQuest. A child should not configure permissions, change grown-up settings, or make a purchase.

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and ScreenQuest (“ScreenQuest,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing use of the ScreenQuest Android application and related support pages (the “Service”). By setting up, purchasing, or using ScreenQuest, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Adult setup and child use

ScreenQuest is designed for a parent or legal guardian to configure for a child. You must be legally able to agree to these Terms and authorize the child's use. You are responsible for choosing age-appropriate settings, supervising use, protecting the grown-up PIN, and ensuring that use complies with household, school, and applicable device rules.

A child should not access the Parents Center, change App Protection permissions, or make a purchase. Billing controls require the grown-up PIN, and Google Play may apply additional purchase authentication or family approval.

2. What ScreenQuest provides

ScreenQuest provides educational practice, local progress information, time-based rewards, and optional protection for apps selected on the same Android device. Features may vary by age, grade, Android version, device manufacturer, language, and available text-to-speech engine.

ScreenQuest is a learning and family-routine tool. It is not a school, tutoring service, child-care service, emergency service, or guarantee of academic results. App Protection is not security software and is not a substitute for adult supervision, Android parental controls, or other safety tools.

3. App Protection and Android permissions

Optional App Protection depends on special Android access and a visible foreground service. A grown-up chooses the protected apps and grants or revokes Android permissions. Android, device-maker battery controls, software updates, force-stop actions, Safe Mode, removed permissions, or other system behavior may delay, interrupt, or prevent protection.

You agree not to rely on ScreenQuest as the only means of preventing access to content, communications, purchases, or applications. Review protection status before handing a device to a child.

4. Free trial and ScreenQuest Plus

The current app starts a seven-day, app-managed trial after a grown-up completes setup. No payment card is requested for this trial, and it does not automatically become a paid plan unless a grown-up affirmatively completes a Google Play purchase.

Continued access after the trial requires ScreenQuest Plus, offered as monthly and annual auto-renewing subscriptions. The exact price, currency, taxes, selected billing period, eligibility, and any Google Play offer are shown before confirmation. By purchasing, you authorize Google Play to charge the payment method associated with the Google Account at the displayed intervals until cancellation.

You can manage or cancel through Google Play. Cancellation normally stops future renewal; access continues through the paid period unless Google states otherwise. Deleting ScreenQuest does not cancel a subscription. Restore purchase can reconnect an eligible purchase on a supported device and account.

Payments, billing authorization, refunds, and transaction records are handled by Google Play and are also subject to Google's terms. Any refund rights required by law remain unaffected. For help, visit ScreenQuest Support or email support@screenquest.tech.

5. Acceptable use

You may use ScreenQuest for personal, non-commercial family use under these Terms and applicable app-store rules. You may not:

  • reverse engineer, bypass, tamper with, or disrupt the Service except where applicable law expressly permits it;
  • use ScreenQuest to violate another person's rights, device rules, or applicable law;
  • misrepresent affiliation with ScreenQuest or redistribute the app as your own;
  • attempt to obtain unauthorized access to systems, purchase entitlements, or data; or
  • use the Service in a way that harms children or other users.

6. Ownership

ScreenQuest, Sparky, the app design, educational content, software, graphics, sounds, and related materials are owned by ScreenQuest or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. These Terms give you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the installed app for its intended purpose. They do not transfer ownership.

7. Privacy

The ScreenQuest Privacy Policy explains how information is handled and forms part of these Terms.

8. Updates, availability, and changes

We may fix, update, add, remove, or discontinue features and may require an app update for security, compatibility, billing, or policy reasons. We do not promise that every feature will always be available on every Android device. If we discontinue a paid Service, we will honor applicable law and app-store requirements.

9. Suspension and termination

You may stop using ScreenQuest at any time. We may suspend access when reasonably necessary to address fraud, abuse, security, legal requirements, or a material violation of these Terms. Sections intended by their nature to survive termination will survive.

10. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScreenQuest is provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScreenQuest and its suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, unauthorized app access, or interruption of device use arising from ScreenQuest. Our total liability for claims relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid for ScreenQuest during the twelve months before the claim. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by applicable United States law and the law applicable where the ScreenQuest operator is established, excluding conflict-of-law rules and subject to mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence. A legally required venue or consumer forum remains available where applicable.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will update the date shown above and give additional notice when required. Continued use after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
